BRAIDED BUN FOR LONG HAIR

STEPS:

  1. Create a Clean Center Part – Use a comb to make a precise center part from your forehead to the crown.

  2. Slick Hair into a Low Ponytail – Apply gel or hairspray to smooth your hair, then gather it into a sleek, low ponytail at the nape of your neck. Secure with a hair tie.

  3. Braid the Ponytail – Divide the ponytail into three sections and create a simple three-strand braid. Secure the end with another hair tie.

  4. Wrap the Braid into a Bun – Coil the braided ponytail around the base of the ponytail, forming a bun. Tuck the end under and secure with bobby pins.

  5. Set and Smooth – Apply more gel or hairspray to tame flyaways and ensure a polished look. Use an edge brush to style baby hairs if desired.

SHORT HAIR

Create a Clean Center or Side Part – Use a comb to divide the hair neatly

Apply Gel or Hairspray – Smooth the bangs or short layers using a small amount of strong-hold gel or spray to keep them in place.

Twist or Slick Back –

  • If the bangs are long enough, twist each side back toward the ponytail and secure them with bobby pins along the part.

  • If the bangs are very short, simply pin them flat against the head, crisscrossing two bobby pins for extra hold.

  •

Blend with the Ponytail or if hair is too short for a ponytail leave down

Performance Makeup for Young Dancers

(Designed to enhance features under stage lights while keeping it age-appropriate.)

What You’ll Need:

✅ Moisturizer & Primer
✅ Foundation or Tinted Moisturizer (optional)
✅ Concealer (if needed)
✅ Translucent Powder
✅ Neutral Eyeshadow Palette (light shimmer, medium brown, dark brown)
✅ Black or Brown Eyeliner (pencil for younger dancers)
✅ Mascara
✅ Blush (pink or peach)
✅ Red or Pink Lipstick
✅ Setting Spray

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prep the Skin

  • Cleanse the face and apply a light moisturizer.

  • Apply a primer to help makeup last longer.

2. Even Out Skin Tone (if needed)

  • Use a light foundation or tinted moisturizer. Blend evenly with a sponge or brush.

  • Apply concealer under the eyes or on blemishes.

  • Set with translucent powder to prevent shine.

3. Eyeshadow (Natural & Defined Look)

  • Apply a light shimmer or matte nude color all over the lid.

  • Blend a medium brown shade into the crease for depth.

  • Add a darker brown at the outer corners for extra definition.

4. Eyeliner & Mascara

  • For younger dancers, use brown or black pencil eyeliner and apply a thin line along the upper lash line.

  • Older dancers can use liquid eyeliner for a sharper look.

  • Apply mascara to the upper lashes (optional on lower lashes for young dancers).

5. Blush for a Healthy Glow

  • Use pink or peach blush on the apples of the cheeks. Blend gently upwards.

6. Lips

  • Apply a red or pink lipstick.

  • Avoid lip gloss, as it can look too shiny under stage lights.

7. Set the Look

  • Lightly mist setting spray to keep makeup in place during the performance.

✨ Pro Tip: Makeup should be slightly exaggerated for stage visibility but still age-appropriate! Keep it simple and fresh for younger dancers.
